Options

Tracker has enormous flexibility but this should not get in the way of your normal working. Therefore, there are a number of options that can be set to suit your preferred way of working.

From Version 6 multiple groups can be handled, but there has to be a single default group for things like the name on the Main Menu form and certain report headers. The default group is selected in the drop down box at the top of the form.

The User can be alerted on start up if any of the members’ birthdays are due. To make it more flexible this alert can be set to occur a number of days before the event to give the Leader time to prepare.

Alerts are set on the Alerts form and are displayed on start up if Raise Alerts on Start Up’ is ticked.

The Personal Details Import tick box controls what happens when a persons personal details are imported. If this box is ticked Tracker will attempt to match people being imported against existing people in the database. If a match is found the Link form opens to give the option to merge details or add a new entry.

The Census Import tick box is rather radical. This assumes that you only want to keep up to date information in the database. For instance an administrator may gather data from a number of Groups or Units. If this box is ticked then the people who have left are completely removed and only the people belonging to the Group in the Census file are kept for that Group. All other people belonging to other Groups are not affected.
